Elizabeth Taylor: The Beautiful Actress Who Never Gave Up On Finding Love

From Giant to Cleopatra and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf?, Elizabeth Taylor has several unforgettable movie credits. However, aside from her acting skills, Elizabeth was always in the news for her many romantic entanglements. If the fact that she walked down the aisle eight times isn’t enough proof that she kept looking for love, then we don’t know what is. Here are the actress’ five most popular husbands.

Conrad Hilton Jr.

Elizabeth Taylor married Conrad “Nicky” Hilton, the hotel heir, in 1950. At the tender age of 18, it wouldn’t be wrong to say Conrad was her first love, and their marriage gave her the first taste of marital bliss.

Their wedding was the talk of the town. Coinciding with her film, Father of the Bride, the marriage ceremony was also a promotion. Aside from the 600 attendees, thousands of fans surrounded the church for sneak peeks. However, the marriage ended almost a year later.

Mike Todd

Elizabeth got married to Mike Todd, a movie producer, in 1953. It was her third marriage and the second marriage that produced kids. Mike and Elizabeth had Liza, their daughter, the same year they married.

Unfortunately, she lost Mike to a plane crash five years later (in 1958). The love story of Elizabeth Taylor and Mike Todd didn’t live to its full potential due to death. She mourned her late husband for about a year before marrying again.

Eddie Fisher

Elizabeth’s marriage to Eddie Fisher in 1959 was one of the most controversial because Fisher was the late Mike Todd’s friend. Well, we can guess they got closer in the process of comforting each other.

That’s not the end of the drama. Eddie Fisher’s ex-wife whom he left, Debbie Reynolds, was also a friend of Elizabeth’s. In 1964, Elizabeth and Eddie got divorced. Also, Debbie and Elizabeth settled things between them.

Richard Burton

Elizabeth got married to her Cleopatra co-star, Richard Burton, after leaving Eddie Fisher in 1964. Richard adopted Elizabeth’s daughter, Liza- doesn’t that smell like love? That’s why fans still had their hopes up after they separated in 1974.

Probably as a result of fans’ relentless prayers, the couple eventually got back together. In 1975, Elizabeth and Richard remarried in Botswana. Sadly, they split again about one year later. Well, Richard has a record here.

Larry Fortensky

In 1991, Elizabeth got married to Larry Fortensky, who turned out to be her last husband, at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. Larry and Elizabeth met when they were both checked in at the same clinic; they obviously aided each other’s recovery.

The fact that Larry was 20 years younger than Elizabeth added to the unconventional circumstances surrounding the marriage. Unfortunately, the couple separated in 1996 as Larry wasn’t cool with being under public scrutiny.
