Silver Screen Stars Then and Now: Where Are the Child Stars of the 2000s Today?

Over the years, the world has seen many major transformations; of course, the movie industry hasn’t been left out. Lots of our favorite child stars have now grown. Some have developed further in the film industry, while others have stepped away from the screen. Here are five child stars from the 2000s and what they’re up to now.

Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe acted as Harry in the “Harry Potter” series. He was just 11 years old when he filmed “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” Apart from Harry Potter, Radcliffe went on to establish himself as a major actor by acting in other movies like “The Woman In Black” and “Swiss Army Man,” among many others.

Radcliffe also went into stage acting and musical movies. Recently, he’s acted in many blockbuster movies of different genres, like “The Al Yankovic Story” and “Merrily We Roll Along.”

Daryl Sabara

Daryl Sabara rose to fame at nine years old. He starred in “Spy Kids” as Juni Cortez. He had already made appearances on several big shows. Daryl went on to act in other blockbusters like “A Christmas Carol” and “The Batman.”

In 2014, Daryl starred in the film “The Library”. Now, 22 years after the release of “The Spy Kids,” Darly is married to Meghan Trainor and is also a father of two sons. Presently, he’s no longer acting but focuses on sobriety and building a happy family.

Frankie Muniz

Frankie Muniz starred as Malcolm in the early 2000s movie “Malcolm In The Middle.” After and during filming, he acted in various films like “Big Fat Liar,” “Agent Cody Banks,” and “Racing Stripes.”

Muniz competed in “Dancing With The Stars” in 2017; he was also a co-host of the event in 2018. Frankie also runs an olive oil store with his spouse. Currently, alongside his acting career, he’s into car racing.

Taylor Momsen 

Remember the young girl known as Cindy Lou in the popular 2000 movie “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas”? A few years after rising to fame in the Christmas movie, she went on to act in the series “Gossip Girl” as Jenny Humphrey.

She continued her role in the series for a few years while founding a rock band called The Pretty Reckless. Eventually, she left the show. Now, Momsen is fully focusing on music. She still leads her band, The Pretty Reckless.

Abigail Breslin

Abigail Breslin became famous after her role in the popular movie “Little Miss Sunshine.” She was just 10. After her break into stardom, she proceeded to feature in other movies like “No Reservations,” “My Sister’s Keeper,” and “Nim’s Island,” amongst others.

In 2015, she made an appearance on the series “Scream Queens.” Also, In 2017, she played a role in the “Dirty Dancing” revival. Presently, Breslin is still very active in acting, with roles in recent movies like “Miranda’s Victim” and “Accused.”
