Here Are The Highlights Of Queen Elizabeth II’s Life In The 60s

Charles becomes a Prince

One of the most significant events of the 60s was the investiture of Charles as Prince of Wales. It took place in Caernarfon Castle, north Wales, on 1 July 1969, when he was only 20 years old.

The ceremony had a TV audience of over 500 million people worldwide, with 19 million watching from the UK. Not everyone was on board with the investiture, especially Welsh organizations against the English occupation. They even carried out protesters on that day.
