Here Are The Highlights Of Queen Elizabeth II’s Life In The 60s

Using her diplomatic skills

As we have mentioned, this decade represented a shift in technological advances, but it also affected international relationships. As Queen of the Commonwealth, Elizabeth had to be on top of diplomatic relationships, like in the case of Zimbabwe, formerly called Rhodesia.

In 1964, the Queen expressed their discontent with Prime Minister Ian Smith, who did not allow the black majority to participate in the government or even vote. After a series of altercations, the people could finally vote in 1979 and elect Abel Muzorewa.
