Wills Tobacco’s “Wild Flowers” trading card series

A few decades before trading cards became extremely popular, tobacco companies began to produce them to advertise themselves while stiffening cigarette packaging. Needless to say, this revolutionary idea was so successful that people started to buy more cigarettes just to collect the cute illustration that came along with them.

For example, in 1936, Wills Tobacco released this fantastic set of 50 trading cards that included illustrations of wild flowers. Don’t you think that they look adorable? We’d love to have them all and use them as decorations for a themed bullet journal!
