Scarface (1983)
Scarface officially turns 40 this year, but it already seems immortal. Even today, we can still hear people uttering, “say hello to my little friend,” an improvised line from Al Pacino that became one of the most iconic quotes ever.
In 1983, this controversial remake of Howard Hawks’ 1932 mobster movie caused quite a stir in cinemas. Why? Well, it turns out that Brian De Palma’s Scarface is filled with violent content, so much so that its filmmakers had to cut out some scenes to get an R rating for theatrical release.
